How Do You Get Saved?
The Bible calls for “Repentance Toward God”
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. – Acts 20:21
Repentance means having a change of heart that leads you to turn away from your sinful ways and toward God. It involves acknowledging that you are a sinner before Him and recognizing that you cannot save yourself from the consequences of sin, which is eternal separation from God in hell.
The Bible calls for “Faith Toward Jesus Christ”
The Bible also calls for “Faith Toward Our Lord Jesus Christ”. Faith means putting your complete trust in Jesus Christ as your only hope for salvation. He alone can remove your guilt and save you from the punishment of sin.
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. – Acts 16:31
By accepting Jesus Christ into your heart and trusting Him to save your soul, you become a child of God and are promised eternal life in heaven. As it is written, “But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name” (John 1:12).
God promises to save you if you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
